NCR Domestic Workers Set for P500 Monthly Wage Increase Starting January 2025

·

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board in the National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR) has recently greenlit a P500 monthly wage increase for domestic workers, known locally as kasambahays. This decision, detailed in Wage Order No. NCR-DW-05, will adjust the minimum wage for these workers to P7,000 per month, up from the current P6,500. The RTWPB-NCR made this decision independently, initiating the wage adjustment process on their own accord. The new wage rate will come into effect on January 4, 2025, and will apply to all kasambahays in the NCR, irrespective of whether they are live-in or live-out employees. This move aims to improve the living standards of domestic workers in the region.
