In a significant operation in Rizal province, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) successfully seized a large collection of high-powered firearms and apprehended a 54-year-old man known as ‘Bong’. The operation took place in Barangay Mayamot, Antipolo City, following a search warrant issued by a Lucena City court on December 17, targeting the suspect for illegal firearm possession.
During the raid on Thursday night, CIDG agents discovered an array of weapons including a Colt 5.56mm rifle, a Thompson .45 pistol, a Colt .45 pistol, a Metrillo .40 pistol, a 9mm Glock pistol, a Rock Island .22 rifle with a scope, and a converted .22 rifle. The haul also included various magazines and a substantial amount of live ammunition.
Further investigation led to the discovery of two Dillon Precision reloading machines, a compressor, two polishing tumblers, and a variety of reloading materials such as smokeless gunpowder, cartridge cases, and bullet heads for .40, .45, and 9mm calibers, all found in the attic of the suspect’s residence.
The operation, which was overseen by a local village official, resulted in the suspect and the seized items being taken to the CIDG Rizal Provincial Field Unit for further processing and legal action.
