The Supreme Court has been granted a 25-hectare plot in Bambang, Bulacan by the Department of Transportation. This land will be the foundation for a new judicial complex, as announced by Justice Jose Midas Marquez in a recent press conference. The site in Bulacan is larger than the previously considered location in Taguig City. Construction is slated to begin in 2025. The land is part of a larger 100-hectare donation from San Miguel Aerocity, Inc. to the government, designated for a Government Center in Bulacan. On September 19, the Supreme Court, along with the Department of Transportation and San Miguel Aerocity, Inc., formalized this arrangement through a memorandum of agreement. The new complex will not only house the Supreme Court but also the Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan, and the Court of Tax Appeals. Additionally, Justice Marquez announced that the long-awaited Manila City Hall of Justice is set to commence construction in the first quarter of 2025. This new facility will consolidate over 80 regional trial courts and up to 30 metropolitan trial courts currently dispersed across various locations in Manila.
