MANILA – The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has seen an upgrade in its operational capabilities with the introduction of new vehicles, as announced by its operator on Thursday. New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC) president Ramon Ang emphasized the importance of these additions in a statement, noting their role in enhancing efficiency and passenger experience at the airport.
The new fleet includes two ambulances outfitted with state-of-the-art medical equipment, three vehicles designed to assist in guiding aircraft to their parking positions, and four coasters for inter-terminal transport. These vehicles are set to complement the existing fleet at NAIA, demonstrating NNIC’s dedication to ensuring a smooth and dependable airport experience.
The addition of these vehicles is particularly crucial during peak times, scheduled maintenance, and emergency situations, according to NNIC. This enhancement comes at a time when NAIA, the primary gateway of the country, reported handling 50.1 million passengers in 2024, marking a significant 10.43 percent increase from the previous year.
