MANILA – On Tuesday, various regions of the Philippines will continue to be affected by rain, influenced by three active weather systems. According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the easterlies will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas. The northeast monsoon, known locally as ‘amihan,’ will keep bringing rain to Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, and Quezon. Additionally, ‘amihan’ combined with the shear line is expected to produce moderate to heavy rainfall in Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, and Sorsogon, potentially leading to flash floods and landslides in these areas. In other parts of Luzon, ‘amihan’ will cause isolated light showers, while the rest of the country can expect isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Strong to gale-force winds and rough to very rough seas are forecasted for Northern Luzon and the eastern parts of Central and Southern Luzon, as well as Visayas. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters. In contrast, Mindanao will see lighter conditions with light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas, as reported by PAGASA.
