MANILA – Several regions of the Philippines are set to see continued rainfall on Thursday, influenced by three distinct weather systems. The shear line is expected to bring scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to areas including Bicol Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon. Specifically, Cagayan and Isabela are forecasted to receive moderate to heavy downpours due to this weather phenomenon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). Additionally, the easterlies will cause scattered rains and thunderstorms in Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi. The northeast monsoon, on the other hand, will bring rain to the Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley, with lighter, isolated showers expected in Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon. Other parts of the country will experience sporadic rain showers due to the easterlies. In Northern Luzon, strong to gale-force winds and rough to very rough seas are anticipated. The rest of Luzon will face moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas, while other areas will see light to moderate winds with slight to moderate sea conditions. PAGASA has reported no low pressure areas that could develop into tropical cyclones at this time.
