Indo-Pacific Airborne Commanders Unite to Address Regional Security Challenges

·

Airborne military leaders from across the Indo-Pacific region convened at the International Airborne Commanders Conference (IACC) in Japan to strategize on emerging security threats. The event, hosted by the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force’s 1st Airborne Brigade at Camp Narashino in Chiba Prefecture, saw delegates from various nations, including the Philippine Army, come together on January 10, 2025. The Philippine Army, represented by Maj. Gen. Leodevic Guinid and Brig. Gen. Rosendo Abad Jr., engaged in discussions aimed at enhancing strategic cooperation and exchanging critical information. The conference underscored the importance of bolstering military-to-military agreements to address the region’s evolving security landscape. Alongside the IACC, the International Airborne Chief Sergeants Major Conference took place, focusing on human resource development, leadership dynamics, and the empowerment of non-commissioned officers. These gatherings are part of the broader New Year Jump in Indo-Pacific 2025 initiative, which seeks to strengthen collaborative efforts among participating countries. Following the conferences, participants engaged in airborne jump demonstrations and technical exchanges on January 12, further solidifying the bonds and operational readiness among the allied forces.
