The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has enlisted the help of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to develop a detailed Civil Aviation Master Plan (CAMP) for the country. A team of eight aviation specialists from EASA will collaborate with CAAP over the next six months to create a plan specifically designed for the Philippines. According to CAAP Information Officer Bea Bernardo, the project is still in its early phases, and a report will be produced at the end of the collaboration period. Discussions are ongoing regarding the finalization of the master plan. The CAMP is intended to serve as a strategic guide to tackle key issues within the Philippine aviation sector, while also exploring avenues for expansion and innovation. EASA has already conducted high-level meetings with CAAP and other stakeholders from January 21 to 23. The goal of CAAP is to enhance the country’s aviation infrastructure and capabilities, aiming to establish the Philippines as a leading hub for safe, efficient, and sustainable air travel within the ASEAN region.
