The Bureau of Immigration (BI) in Manila has taken decisive action by deporting three Chinese nationals linked to illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO). The individuals, identified as Lyu Xun, Kong Xiangrui, and Wang Shangle, were flown back to Xiamen on an AirAsia flight. This move comes after their arrest earlier this month during a large-scale operation in Parañaque City that led to the apprehension of 450 illegal POGO workers. BI Commissioner Joel Viado emphasized that this is just the beginning of a series of deportations aimed at removing all violators of immigration laws swiftly. The deportations align with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to safeguard national interests by prohibiting POGOs. Viado urged remaining illegal POGO workers to surrender voluntarily to avoid arrest and facilitate their departure from the country.
