In a robust effort to combat crime, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested 214 individuals over a weeklong operation spanning January 19 to 25. Acting Director Col. Melecio Buslig Jr. reported that the operations targeted a range of criminal activities, resulting in the apprehension of 64 wanted individuals, 69 people involved in illegal gambling, 77 drug suspects, and four others for illegal firearm possession. The crackdown included 48 anti-drug operations, which led to the seizure of illegal drugs valued at PHP2.36 million. Additionally, 28 operations against illegal gambling netted PHP26,307 in betting money. The QCPD’s efforts highlight a significant push to enhance public safety and reduce criminal activities within the city.
