MANILA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has forecasted that three weather systems will bring rain to most parts of the Philippines on Thursday. The shear line is expected to cause scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms in regions including Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Laguna, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Aklan, and Capiz. Heavy to intense rainfall is predicted for Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Albay. Moderate to heavy rains are also anticipated in Laguna, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar due to the same weather system. The easterlies will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to Caraga, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, known locally as ‘amihan,’ will cause rain in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora. The rest of Luzon can expect isolated light rains from ‘amihan,’ while the rest of the country will see isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. PAGASA also warned of potential flash floods and landslides in areas experiencing moderate to heavy rains. Strong to gale winds and rough to very rough coastal waters are expected in Northern Luzon, the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon, and Visayas. Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will affect the eastern section of Mindanao and the rest of Luzon, while other areas will experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
