A recent survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) from December 12 to 18 indicates that a significant 59% of adult Filipinos are content with the performance of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration. The survey results show a net satisfaction rating of +36, which is considered ‘good.’ Conversely, 23% of respondents expressed dissatisfaction, while 17% remained undecided.
The administration earned ‘very good’ ratings in several critical areas, including disaster victim assistance (+65), enhancing children’s education quality (+60), support for the impoverished (+57), job creation initiatives (+51), and advancements in science and technology (+51). It also received ‘good’ ratings in seven other areas such as housing programs for the poor (+49), food security (+46), efficient public transportation (+45), typhoon preparedness (+44), climate change response (+38), honesty with the public (+34), and defending national sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+32).
However, the administration’s efforts in ensuring no family goes hungry were rated ‘moderate’ at +26. It received ‘neutral’ ratings in fighting crime (+4), oil price regulation (-2), and anti-corruption efforts (-3), while its performance in combating inflation was deemed ‘poor’ at -12.
Regionally, satisfaction was highest in Balance Luzon and the Visayas, both at +44, followed by Metro Manila at +31 and Mindanao at +16. Compared to the previous survey in September 2024, satisfaction in the Visayas increased by 13 points, while it decreased by seven points in Mindanao. Changes in Metro Manila and Balance Luzon were minimal.
In terms of demographics, satisfaction among women slightly improved from +33 to +36, while it decreased among men from +39 to +35. Satisfaction levels among different age groups remained largely stable, with a notable exception among 45-54-year-olds, where satisfaction dropped from +36 to +28. Among educational groups, satisfaction increased among elementary graduates (+40) and remained stable among other groups, except for non-elementary graduates, where it fell from +48 to +37.
The survey involved face-to-face interviews with 2,160 adults nationwide, with a sampling error margin of ±2% for national percentages, ±3% for Balance Luzon, and ±5% for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
