MANILA – The Marcos administration has expressed its gratitude for the sustained support from the Filipino populace, as indicated by a recent Social Weather Station (SWS) survey. Conducted between December 12 and 18, 2024, the survey revealed that a significant 59% of adult Filipinos are satisfied with the performance of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s government, with only 23% expressing dissatisfaction and 17% remaining undecided.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, in a statement released on Thursday, highlighted the administration’s appreciation for the public’s backing, which has consistently shown positive results in surveys. He specifically mentioned the encouraging feedback on the government’s handling of disasters, improvements in basic education, and initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty and generating employment.

Bersamin also acknowledged the positive feedback on efforts to enhance housing, ensure food availability, and improve transportation systems. The SWS survey reported a net satisfaction rating of +36 for the administration, categorized as ‘good.’

The administration earned ‘very good’ ratings in key areas such as disaster victim assistance (+65), educational quality enhancement (+60), poverty alleviation (+57), job creation (+51), and advancements in science and technology (+51). It also received ‘good’ ratings in housing programs for the underprivileged (+49), food security (+46), public transportation efficiency (+45), typhoon preparedness (+44), climate change response (+38), transparency (+34), and defending national sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+32).

However, the administration’s efforts to prevent hunger received a ‘moderate’ rating of +26. Bersamin emphasized that while survey results serve as indicators of public sentiment, the true measure of governance lies in the tangible improvements in citizens’ lives. He noted that these surveys are valuable as feedback mechanisms to refine service delivery.
