DepEd and Nestlé Philippines Join Forces to Enhance Nutrition Education in Schools

·

The Department of Education (DepEd) has teamed up with Nestlé Philippines to elevate its nutrition education initiatives in public schools across various regions. This collaboration was highlighted during the Nestlé Wellness Campus Program event at Taguig Integrated School in Taguig City on January 28, 2024. Education Secretary Sonny Angara emphasized that the partnership is dedicated to fostering champions in sports, academics, and life through comprehensive nutrition education.

Secretary Angara described the DepEd-Nestlé collaboration as a commitment to the youth, going beyond a mere contractual agreement. The program is designed to encourage students and their families to embrace healthier lifestyles and dietary choices. It will offer nutrition modules and physical activities to students from Grades 1 to 10, along with engaging activities such as Wellness Songs and Dance.

The initiative will be rolled out in Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol, Eastern, Central, and Western Visayas, and extend to Northern Mindanao and Davao. This partnership aims to make a significant impact on the health and well-being of Filipino learners.
