MANILA – President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed his delight on Friday regarding the high public approval of his administration, stating that it motivates him and all government officials to strive harder in serving the Filipino populace. This comes in the wake of a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey, conducted from December 12 to 18, 2024, which revealed that 59 percent of adult Filipinos are content with the performance of the Marcos administration.
In a spontaneous interview in Pasay City, Marcos remarked, “It’s always heartening to see that our efforts are felt by the majority of the people. It’s very encouraging.” He further stated, “Naturally, this boosts our morale, and we will work to enhance and refine our programs… I’m confident it also motivates all public servants to keep doing their utmost for our citizens.”
The survey indicated that only 23 percent of respondents were dissatisfied with the current administration, while 17 percent remained undecided. The Marcos administration maintained a net satisfaction rating of “good” at +36, according to the SWS poll.
The administration earned “very good” ratings in five critical areas: aiding disaster victims (+65), enhancing children’s education quality (+60), supporting the impoverished (+57), job creation initiatives (+51), and advancing science and technology (+51).
Additionally, seven areas received “good” ratings: executing housing programs for the poor (+49), ensuring food security (+46), maintaining an effective public transportation system (+45), preparing for typhoon disasters (+44), tackling climate change (+38), being truthful with the public (+34), and safeguarding Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (+32).
The administration was rated “moderate” in preventing families from going hungry (+26).
On Thursday, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin expressed gratitude for the support from the Filipino people, noting that public feedback enables the government to enhance its service delivery.
