In Manila, the Commission on Appointments (CA) has officially confirmed the interim appointments of 36 senior officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and 19 officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada, who leads the CA Committee on Foreign Affairs, praised the diplomatic appointees for their deep knowledge and skills in international diplomacy and negotiations. Estrada highlighted their commitment to advancing the interests of Filipinos overseas, enhancing diplomatic relations, and reinforcing the strength of the Philippine foreign service. Among the confirmed appointees is Eduardo Jose de Vega, who has been appointed as Undersecretary and will serve as Chief of Mission Class 1 and Ambassador to France, also covering Monaco. On the other hand, CA Committee on National Defense Chair Rep. Jurdin Jesus Romualdo recognized the military officers for their dedication to national security, their efforts in disaster management, and their contributions to peace in the region. Romualdo expressed gratitude for their continuous efforts and sacrifices in maintaining national security and peace.
