AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla emphasized that this surveillance is integral to the military’s efforts to protect the nation’s security. She stressed the AFP’s dedication to ensuring that all technologies employed by the military meet rigorous data security standards. Padilla also stated that the AFP is prepared to take swift action should the Philippine government decide to ban DeepSeek, in order to safeguard the country’s critical infrastructure and information systems. In the interim, the AFP will continue to focus on cybersecurity and stay alert to any potential threats to national security.
