Philippine National Police Seize P50 Million in Drugs During January Operations

In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics, the Philippine National Police’s Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) announced the seizure of drugs valued at PHP50.35 million in January. PDEG’s acting chief, Colonel Rolando Cuya, detailed that the haul included 6.04 kilograms of shabu, 530 grams of dried marijuana leaves, 45,800 mature marijuana plants, 150 marijuana seedlings, and 40 milliliters of marijuana oil. These confiscations were the result of 68 operations, which included 40 buy-bust operations, leading to the arrest of 87 individuals involved in drug activities and 22 wanted persons. Colonel Cuya praised the special operations units for their outstanding efforts and dedication in the battle against drug-related crimes. He emphasized the crucial role of the PNP’s actions in disrupting drug operations, capturing drug offenders, and working towards a safer, drug-free community. Cuya’s commendation underscored the dedication and sacrifices made by the PDEG personnel in their ongoing fight against illegal drugs, highlighting their commitment to national service and justice.
