The embassy’s statement highlighted the need for vigilance, stating, “Due to the increase in influenza cases in Japan, we encourage our fellow Filipinos to be cautious.” They further advised travelers to Japan to secure travel insurance for potential medical emergencies. To combat the spread of the virus, the embassy recommended wearing face masks in crowded areas and on public transport. Additionally, Filipinos were advised to keep up with public health announcements and to stay at home if they experience symptoms of a cold or feel unwell.
