In a significant move, Senate President Francis Escudero disclosed on Monday that the impeachment complaint filed against Vice President Sara Duterte, complete with all its annexes, has been made available on the Senate’s official website for the public to access. This action followed the distribution of the complaint to all 23 senators last week. During a press briefing, Escudero confirmed that the document was uploaded to ensure transparency and public access. He stressed the importance of the complaint being a public document and reiterated that senators would have sufficient time to review it and prepare for upcoming proceedings. Escudero also mentioned that by June 2, senators would have no excuse for not being familiar with the document, as they would receive a draft of the proposed impeachment rules within the next two weeks for further review.
