New NAIA Infra Corp. Boosts Security with 342 Additional Screeners

·

The New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), responsible for managing the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), has enhanced its security measures by hiring 342 new screening personnel. These individuals, all certified by the Office for Transportation Security (OTS), include 195 non-passenger screeners, 18 non-passenger supervisors, and 129 screeners tasked with access control duties. According to Kim Marquez from OTS, these new hires have undergone training at institutions, centers, and schools accredited by the OTS. Non-passenger screeners focus on employees and crew, while their supervisors ensure security protocols are followed in these areas. Meanwhile, access control screeners verify IDs, passes, and tickets to regulate entry into airport terminals and restricted zones. A recent social media update from OTS emphasized that the certification of these additional staff members confirms their ability to fulfill aviation security roles effectively. OTS Administrator Crizaldo Nieves highlighted that this certification reflects their readiness to meet both international and national security standards, thereby enhancing safety for all passengers at Manila’s airport.
