Outgoing Transportation Secretary Urges Continued Dedication to New Appointee

·

In a heartfelt address, outgoing Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista urged the Department of Transportation (DOTr) officials and its affiliated agencies to maintain, if not increase, their dedication to his successor, Vince Dizon. Bautista, who recently announced his resignation due to health concerns, emphasized the importance of continuing the department’s mission and vision for the benefit of the public.

During a meeting with DOTr officials, Bautista encouraged them to offer their insights and recommendations to Dizon, who is set to take over on February 21. ‘This is not just for us, but for our fellow citizens, to better serve our passengers,’ Bautista stated, highlighting the public service aspect of their roles.

The meeting followed the confirmation of Dizon’s appointment by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin. In the same gathering, Civil Aeronautics Board Executive Director Carmelo Arcilla praised Bautista’s leadership, expressing gratitude for his kindness, confidence, and trust. Arcilla, who has worked under eight transportation secretaries, declared Bautista as the best leader he has served.

Bautista’s call for continued commitment reflects his dedication to the ongoing projects and initiatives within the DOTr, ensuring a smooth transition and sustained progress under Dizon’s leadership.
