Pag-IBIG Fund Davao Disburses Over PHP142 Billion in Loans Since 2022

In a significant financial boost to the Davao Region, the Pag-IBIG Fund has released more than PHP142 billion in loans since July 2022, according to Marie Antoniette Diaz, Senior Vice President for Member Services Operations at Pag-IBIG Fund. Speaking at the ‘Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas’ forum in Davao City, Diaz detailed that the funds were split into PHP132.28 billion for multipurpose loans (MPL) and PHP10.39 billion for calamity loans, covering the period up to the third quarter of 2024.

Diaz specified that within the Davao Region, PHP6.79 billion was allocated for MPL and PHP274 million for calamity loans. Additionally, the region saw PHP4.65 billion in regular savings and PHP2.80 billion in Modified Pag-IBIG II (MP2) savings from its members.

Supporting President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s housing initiative, Pag-IBIG has played a crucial role in facilitating affordable homeownership. In Region 11, the fund approved PHP12 billion in housing loans, enabling 26,764 low-income earners to secure homes. Furthermore, PHP10.85 billion was disbursed for housing purchases or repairs, benefiting 9,154 members, while an additional PHP389 million under the socialized housing loan program assisted 954 members.
