In a successful 24-hour anti-drug operation, the Police Regional Office 6 (Western Visayas) confiscated over PHP2.9 million worth of suspected shabu. The operations, which began at 6 a.m. on Wednesday, culminated in the arrest of 12 suspects across the region. The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) reported the most significant seizure, amounting to PHP1.7 million, with the largest single haul coming from a jobless individual in Barangay Balabag, Pavia town, where PHP1.36 million worth of illegal drugs were recovered. Additional operations in Iloilo City led to the recovery of PHP1.25 million in suspected shabu across five separate incidents. Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Director of PRO-6, praised the collaborative efforts of the community, law enforcement agencies, and the police in these successful operations, emphasizing their role in curbing the spread of illegal drugs in the region.
