In a heartfelt celebration held in Cagayan de Oro City, officials from Marawi City and World Vision Philippines gathered to commend the strides made in their joint child protection initiatives. The event, marking a significant moment during the Bangsamoro Children’s Month, highlighted the successful outcomes of the Urban Child Protection and Participation Project (UCPP). Adonis Casinillo, the project manager at World Vision Philippines, spoke about the project’s focus on enhancing child welfare through community and school-based programs. He expressed a strong commitment to maintaining the momentum of their achievements. Rismirah Adap, Marawi City’s social welfare and development officer, lauded World Vision for their unwavering support, especially during tough times like the 2017 siege and the subsequent Covid-19 crisis, describing them as more than just partners but as family. In a touching gesture, the Ministry of Social Services and Development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MSSD-BARMM) facilitated a brief reunion for 81 children with their incarcerated parents at Marawi City Jail on November 14, 2024, supported by regional welfare bodies.
