Cebu Universities Shine as 12 Graduates Top Philippine Nursing Licensure Exam

CEBU CITY – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) proudly announced that twelve graduates from four Cebu universities excelled in the November Philippine Nursing Licensure Examination. Chariemae Cañazares from Cebu Normal University (CNU) clinched the top position with an impressive score of 92.6. CNU, celebrated for its educational and nursing prowess, contributed eight of the top twelve performers.

Dr. Joseph Elvir Tubilan, CNU’s vice president for academic affairs, celebrated the achievements of other CNU alumni. Marc Emmanuel Arepal Estillore secured fourth place with 91.8, followed by Jaymi Loise Basilla Abellana in fifth with 91.6, and Liza May Collamar Salas in sixth with 91.4. Laarni Jane Acibo Durango ranked seventh with 91.2, while Mae Jyn Bartido Rosalita and Mary Angelique Jore Tabasa shared eighth place with 91. Roy Justin Harani Erandio and Roxxane Virgie Bebanco Libron from Cebu Doctors University tied for ninth with 90.8. Completing the top ten were Jeremiah Paul Capangpangan Ureta and Adrianne Lauren Torres Ozaraga from Velez College, both scoring 90.6, alongside Kert Bea Labus Rom.

Tubilan proudly shared that CNU’s College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences has achieved a perfect passing rate for the nursing licensure exam for 13 consecutive years. He stated, “With our nine topnotchers and a perfect passing rate, CNU stands out as one of the top-performing nursing schools in the country,” during a press conference.

Cañazares, the top scorer, expressed her commitment to serving her country and her gratitude for the opportunity to study at a state university that provides tuition-free education.

The PRC disclosed that out of 34,534 examinees, 29,349 successfully passed the licensure exam held across 19 testing centers nationwide on November 9 and 10.
