Cordillera Region Approves P40 Daily Wage Increase for Minimum Wage Earners

·

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in the Cordillera Administrative Region has given the green light to a P40 daily wage increase for minimum wage workers and a P1,100 monthly raise for household workers. This decision was formalized in Wage Order CAR-23 and CAR-DW-06, both dated November 13, 2024, and was shared on the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) official social media platform on December 6, 2024. The new minimum wage for workers in the region will be P470, effective three weeks after the orders are published in a newspaper of general circulation, which is set for December 23, 2024. Household workers, known locally as ‘kasambahays,’ will see their minimum monthly wage rise from P4,900 to P6,000. The RTWPB reached this decision following a series of public consultations across the region that began in May 2024.
