CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Northern Mindanao has emerged as the leading region in the Philippines for its full compliance with the Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP), according to a recent announcement by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB). LTFRB 10 Director Abosamen Matuan highlighted that the region achieved this status due to its perfect coordination with all local government units (LGUs) involved in the implementation of the LPTRP as part of the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program. Matuan emphasized the crucial role of strong relationships and coordination with LGUs, local leaders, transport cooperatives, corporations, and other stakeholders in achieving this recognition. Additionally, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Northern Mindanao reported exceeding its goals in several areas this year. LTO-10 Director Nelson Manaloto noted that between January and October, the office conducted 58 outreach programs for theoretical driving courses, reaching 10,011 participants and earning over PHP10 million. From January to November, LTO-10 processed 574,120 vehicle registrations and issued 265,973 licenses and permits. The office also recorded 29,989 traffic violations, surpassing the set target of 28,000. Manaloto further reported that LTO-10’s revenue collection saw a significant rise, exceeding PHP1 billion this year.
