In the Caraga Region, the Department of Health (DOH) reported a single fireworks-related injury during the Christmas festivities on December 25. The incident took place in Surigao del Norte, marking the only such case in the region from December 1 to 24. Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 praised the region’s residents for contributing to a peaceful holiday season. The police attributed the calm atmosphere to their strategic placement of officers in busy locations like malls, terminals, ports, and churches. Enhanced police presence and proactive measures, along with community support, played a crucial role in preventing criminal activities. Colonel Michael Lebanan, the officer in charge of PRO-13, encouraged the public to remain vigilant and report any emergencies or suspicious behavior to local police stations. He emphasized the importance of collective efforts to maintain safety as the year ends and the new year begins.
