During the 128th Rizal Day celebration in Baguio City, Philippine Military Academy Superintendent Vice Admiral Caesar Bernard Valencia emphasized the importance of education as a form of patriotism. Speaking on December 30, 2024, Valencia highlighted that completing one’s education is a significant way for the youth to contribute to the nation, echoing the values of Dr. Jose P. Rizal.
Valencia pointed out that one does not need to be a doctor, writer, or revolutionary to serve the country. He praised Rizal’s admiration for education, noting it as a crucial expression of love for the nation. The PMA head stressed that education is vital for the progress and future security of the Philippines.
Encouraging the younger generation to pursue their studies, Valencia stated that education is a tool to elevate the nation and instill a sense of national pride in future generations. He called on the public to reflect on Rizal’s life and consider how they can follow in his footsteps.
Valencia concluded by suggesting that heroism is accessible to everyone through simple daily actions such as kindness, honesty, and community care, all of which reflect Rizal’s vision for the country.
