Caraga Region Launches Business One-Stop Shop for 2025 Transactions

·

In a move to enhance the ease of doing business, various cities and towns across the Caraga Region have initiated the Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) for the year 2025. The launch, which took place on Thursday, January 2, 2025, aims to facilitate smoother business renewals and registrations for local entrepreneurs.

In Butuan City, the City Business Permits and Licensing Department (CBPLD) has set up a dedicated area at Robinsons Place to handle these transactions. The city’s information office has encouraged all business owners to utilize the BOSS facility at Robinsons Place, which will be operational until January 31, 2025. Staff from various departments and government agencies are on hand to assist with the process.

The city has seen a consistent increase in business permit registrations over the past few years, with numbers rising from 12,971 in 2020 to 17,994 by November 2024. Butuan City Ordinance 7160-2024 stipulates that business permits and taxes must be renewed by March 31 to avoid penalties.

Similar BOSS initiatives have been rolled out across other municipalities in the region, all starting on the same day. This regional effort is in line with Republic Act 11032, the Ease of Doing Business Law, which seeks to improve service quality by minimizing costs and inconveniences for the public. The BOSS system is designed to simplify business registration and compliance processes, making it easier for businesses to operate within the region.
