PhilHealth Urges Ilonggos to Embrace KonSulTa Package for Better Health

·

ILOILO CITY – The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) is calling on the residents of Iloilo to take their health seriously by enrolling in the Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (KonSulTa) package. This initiative, designed to promote early detection and management of diseases, was emphasized by Janimhe Jalbuna, the head of PhilHealth Western Visayas’ public affairs unit, during a recent interview.

Jalbuna stressed the importance of preventive health services, which include consultations, diagnostic tests, and medications, as part of a daily health regimen. She pointed out that the KonSulTa package can help manage common ailments such as pneumonia, acute gastroenteritis, hypertension, urinary tract infections, stroke, and chronic kidney disease, which are among the top conditions covered by PhilHealth.

Despite the availability of these services, Jalbuna noted that only a fraction of the over 2.2 million registered members and dependents have utilized their initial consultation as of October 2024. She expressed hope that more beneficiaries would take advantage of their benefits in the coming year.

PhilHealth has enhanced the KonSulTa package for 2025, increasing the per-beneficiary allocation to PHP1,700, with an additional PHP1,000 for preventive oral care. The package now encompasses 13 diagnostic services, including newly added breast mammograms and ultrasounds, and continues to cover 21 essential medicines.

Starting January 10, PhilHealth will also cover services provided in emergency facilities under its emergency care service package benefit. With 180 accredited KonSulTa Package Providers in Western Visayas, PhilHealth is committed to improving the health outcomes of its members.
