In a series of brutal ambushes in Sultan Kudarat province, four individuals, including a college dean, his nephew, and a married couple, lost their lives on Thursday evening. The first incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in Barangay Maregaeg, Lebak, where Henry Racho, a 51-year-old dean and sports coordinator at Notre Dame of Salaman College, along with his 17-year-old nephew, were fatally shot while riding a motorbike. The attack took place during heavy rainfall, and the young victim was pronounced dead at the scene, while Racho succumbed to his injuries an hour later at a hospital. Father Charlie Celeste, president of Notre Dame of Salaman College, mourned the loss of Racho, highlighting the void left by his absence. Later that evening, another ambush in Purok Tambes, Barangay Sta. Clara, Kalamansig, claimed the lives of Nestor Rondon, 67, and his wife, Marilou Rondon, 60, as they were also riding a motorbike. The police have yet to determine the motives behind these violent attacks.
