Iloilo City Commends Iglesia ni Cristo for Peaceful National Rally

The Iloilo City government has expressed appreciation for the Iglesia ni Cristo’s (INC) National Rally for Peace, which took place at the Freedom Grandstand in Iloilo City. The event, held on Monday, January 13, 2025, was described as peaceful and harmonious by city officials. The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) highlighted the rally as a powerful demonstration of unity, respect, and cooperation, emphasizing its role in promoting national peace. Mayor Jerry Treñas praised the INC for their well-coordinated efforts, noting that preparations and coordination with the city began on Friday and continued until Sunday. At its peak, the rally saw an attendance of 18,000 participants. The Iloilo City Emergency Operation Center reported that 47 attendees sought medical consultations, primarily for blood pressure issues, with others reporting dizziness and minor injuries from falls. ICPO Director Col. Kim Legada expressed pride in the successful facilitation of the event, stating that it reflected a collective yearning for peace and showcased the strength of respect and cooperation among the community. The rally drew INC members from across Panay Island, underscoring the event’s significance and reach.
