In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, authorities in Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur, apprehended two key drug suspects during a meticulously planned buy-bust operation on Tuesday afternoon. The operation, executed by agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) with assistance from local police, resulted in the seizure of shabu valued at PHP3.4 million. The suspects, identified as Papad and Adina, were caught in the act of handing over the illegal substance to an undercover agent in Barangay Poblacion. Following their arrest, the duo was taken into custody at the PDEA-BARMM detention facility, where they now face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The operation also led to the recovery of 500 grams of shabu, along with identification cards, mobile phones, and a motorcycle. PDEA-BARMM Director Gil Cesario P. Castro revealed that the suspects had been under surveillance for two weeks, having been involved in drug peddling across Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte, and parts of Maguindanao del Norte.
