In a significant crackdown on illegal drug activities, the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO6) reported the seizure of illegal drugs valued at PHP25.6 million over a three-week period. The operations, spanning from December 15, 2024, to January 5, 2025, led to the arrest of 140 suspects across 95 operations. The confiscated drugs included approximately 3,768 grams of shabu and marijuana. The largest seizure occurred in Bacolod City, where the police confiscated shabu worth PHP16.5 million. Iloilo City followed with a haul valued at PHP6.5 million, and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office seized drugs worth PHP1.08 million. Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, the regional director of PRO6, emphasized the need for continued aggressive action against drug trafficking, urging sustained collaboration with various law enforcement agencies, local governments, and community members to maintain the momentum of the campaign.
