In a significant drug bust at the Sirawan checkpoint in Davao City, law enforcement officials apprehended two individuals and seized PHP818,720 worth of suspected shabu on Monday. The operation was detailed in a statement released by the Police Regional Office in Davao Region (PRO-11) on their official Facebook page. Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete, the director of PRO-11, explained that the suspects’ vehicle was stopped for a routine check, during which an officer discovered a small plastic sachet believed to contain shabu. Further inspection led to the discovery of eight square-shaped, heat-sealed, transparent plastic sachets of the substance. The suspects were subsequently taken into custody at the Toril Police Station. Rosete praised the alertness of the officers involved, particularly the one who initially spotted the drugs. He emphasized that this successful operation underscores the ongoing commitment of PRO-11, in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Philippines and other law enforcement bodies, to combat drug-related activities in the region.
