Surigao del Norte State University Students Receive Over PHP1.1 Million in Financial Aid

In a significant boost to education in the region, the provincial government of Surigao del Norte has provided financial assistance totaling over PHP1.1 million to 555 students at the Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) in Claver. The distribution event, held on January 22, 2025, was led by Governor Robert Lyndon Barbers, alongside Vice Governor Eddie Gokiangkee Jr. and Claver Mayor Georgia Gokiangkee.

Each student was granted PHP2,000 to help cover essential school-related expenses. Clarissa, a 21-year-old beneficiary, expressed her gratitude, noting that the timely aid would assist her in purchasing necessary school materials and also help with other personal expenses such as food.

Governor Barbers addressed the students during the event, emphasizing the provincial government’s dedication to supporting their educational journey. He highlighted the importance of education in shaping the future of the province and praised the collaborative efforts of the local government of Claver and the management of SNSU in facilitating this support.

This initiative underscores the province’s commitment to nurturing its youth, recognizing them as the cornerstone of future development.
