In a harrowing incident early Friday morning, a truck carrying sugarcane veered off a bridge in Barangay Tamisu, Bais City, Negros Oriental, resulting in serious injuries to four individuals. The accident occurred when the vehicle’s brakes failed while navigating a downhill slope at Cang-Abok Bridge, causing it to crash onto the ground below. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene, and the injured, including the driver and three passengers, were promptly transported to Bais City District Hospital for urgent medical attention. The driver, a resident of Barangay Nangka in Bayawan City, along with his passengers, all from the same area, were reported to be in serious condition. The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, led by spokesperson Lt. Stephen Polinar, is currently conducting an investigation into the mishap to determine further details and prevent future occurrences.
