Cotabato City is enveloped in sorrow following the passing of its dedicated councilor, Dr. Danda Juanday, at the age of 74 on Sunday. The city’s mayor, Mohammad Ali Matabalao, announced that the Philippine flag at city hall would be lowered to half-mast in tribute to Juanday’s significant contributions and his previous role as city administrator. The announcement of Juanday’s death was made by former mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi on her Facebook page, where she expressed her deep personal loss, referring to Juanday as a strong family pillar and her uncle. Sayadi highlighted Juanday’s passion for his work and noted his recent recognition as one of the Ten Outstanding Bridging Leaders by the Asian Institute of Management. During a convocation at city hall on Monday, employees gathered to honor Juanday. Vice Mayor Butch Abu praised Juanday’s integrity and dedication to serving all citizens impartially. Hashim Manticayan of the League of Bangsamoro Organizations lauded Juanday as a compassionate leader committed to the health and welfare of the Bangsamoro community.
