Bicol Police Seize Nearly P2 Million in Illegal Drugs During Weeklong Operations

In a series of operations spanning from January 20 to January 26, the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) successfully confiscated illegal drugs valued at nearly PHP2 million. The operations, which took place across the six provinces and one city of the Bicol region, led to the arrest of 36 individuals involved in drug-related activities. Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon, the director of PRO-5, reported that the seized drugs included 291.3550 grams of shabu and 29.37 grams of marijuana, totaling PHP1.98 million in street value. The breakdown of the drug haul by province showed Camarines Sur leading with a seizure worth PHP1.51 million, followed by Camarines Norte at PHP226,113, Naga City at PHP161,160, Albay at PHP69,468, Masbate at PHP6,800, Sorsogon at PHP5,464, and Catanduanes at PHP319. Dizon emphasized PRO-5’s unwavering commitment to eradicating illegal drugs and ensuring public safety. He highlighted the agency’s dedication to maintaining order and its ongoing efforts to combat the drug problem, promising continued proactive enforcement to foster a safer environment for the residents of Bicol.
