In a harrowing incident on Tuesday morning, Anwar Dimasinsil, a vice mayoral candidate from Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt. The attack occurred at around 9 a.m. on the national highway linking Buluan to President Quirino in Sultan Kudarat province. Dimasinsil, aged 46, and his driver, who was protected by a bulletproof vest, emerged unscathed from the ambush. The candidate later shared an image on Facebook of his vehicle, which was riddled with bullet holes, expressing relief that no one was injured. The Buluan Municipal Police Office has launched a manhunt to apprehend those responsible for the attack.
