·

In a significant financial update, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation in Caraga (PhilHealth-13) announced that it has successfully disbursed over PHP2.8 billion to cover 304,044 claims throughout 2024. This announcement was made by PhilHealth-13 Regional Vice President Michael Jibson Hernandez, who emphasized the agency’s robust financial health despite the absence of a subsidy in the current year’s budget.

Hernandez reassured the public, stating, ‘There is no cause for concern. Our claim processing is efficient, and PhilHealth remains financially strong with sufficient reserves to continue our operations seamlessly.’ This statement comes at a time when financial stability is crucial for maintaining service quality.

Last year, PhilHealth-13 expanded its network by accrediting 51 healthcare facilities and hospitals across the region. This includes 17 facilities in Agusan del Norte, 10 in Agusan del Sur, nine in Surigao del Norte, three in Dinagat Islands, and 12 in Surigao del Sur, enhancing the accessibility of healthcare services.

As of the end of 2024, PhilHealth-13 reported a total membership of 2,623,366 in the region, with 1,406,130 direct members and 1,217,236 indirect members. The agency also collected approximately PHP2.053 billion in contributions last year, which has significantly strengthened its financial position.

The performance of PhilHealth-13 highlights its dedication to ensuring that healthcare services remain accessible and that claims are processed promptly for its members.
