A single lucky bettor from Cavite province hit the jackpot, winning a staggering PHP55 million in the Grand Lotto 6/55 draw held on Monday night. The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced on Tuesday that the winning ticket, which matched the numbers 21-40-15-55-10-54, was purchased in Trece Martires City. The total prize amounted to PHP55,648,009.00.
In addition to the jackpot winner, seven other participants each won PHP100,000 by correctly guessing five out of the six numbers. Furthermore, 499 bettors will receive PHP1,500 each for matching four numbers, while 11,104 will take home PHP60 for getting three numbers right.
Winners have a one-year window from the draw date to claim their prizes, as stipulated by Republic Act 1169, which governs PCSO lotteries. All jackpot prizes must be claimed at the PCSO’s main office located on Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City. Claimants are required to sign their names on the back of their winning tickets and provide two government-issued identification documents.
It’s worth noting that any winnings exceeding PHP10,000 are subject to a 20 percent tax, as per the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law. The Grand Lotto 6/55 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
