As the election season heats up, President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has urged citizens to remain vigilant against fake news and misinformation, which tend to proliferate during campaign periods. In a recent vlog, Marcos emphasized the importance of discerning truth from falsehood, especially when consuming online content.

‘Campaigns are often accompanied by intrigue and mudslinging, commonly known as fake news,’ Marcos stated, highlighting the need for caution among the populace. ‘It is widespread, and we must be attentive,’ he added, emphasizing the pivotal role of Filipinos in identifying accurate information.

Marcos, who has been actively participating in campaign events for the ‘Alyansa Para Sa Bagong Pilipinas,’ reinforced the call during his Friday speech. He encouraged voters to support candidates committed to national service and progress, despite the presence of fake news.

‘Whether there is a campaign or not, fake news will persist,’ Marcos noted. ‘Regardless of the election season, the government remains steadfast in its duties. We will continue to fortify what has been initiated and enhance the nation’s development.’
