In honor of Women’s Month, House Speaker Martin Romualdez highlighted the pivotal role of Filipino women in shaping the nation’s history and advancement. He recognized their influence in various sectors, from homes to economy, education, politics, and public service, attributing the country’s ongoing progress to their intelligence, hard work, and determination.

Romualdez called for sustained efforts to combat discrimination, uphold women’s rights, and foster leadership opportunities. He reiterated his commitment to supporting women through the legislative measures in the House of Representatives.

Stressing that Women’s Month is a call to action rather than mere recognition, he urged society to continue dismantling barriers and ensuring equal opportunities for women across all fields.

Romualdez reaffirmed the House’s dedication to creating laws that protect women’s rights, dismantle discrimination and violence, and elevate their leadership roles in governance and nation-building. While acknowledging the progress made towards gender equality, he emphasized the necessity of further actions. Romualdez stated, “Our endeavor will persist until every woman can dream, achieve, and succeed without restrictions.”

He concluded with a powerful message on the importance of empowering women: “Empowering women means uplifting families, strengthening communities, and securing a brighter future for everyone. Mabuhay ang kababaihang Pilipino! (Long live the Filipino women!) Happy Women’s Month!”
