·

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called on Friday for Filipinos to engage in deep reflection on their life’s purpose and extend kindness to those in need while joining the Muslim community in celebrating Ramadan.

Marcos expressed solidarity with Islamic communities nationwide and globally as they celebrate this significant month. He noted, “The Holy Month of Ramadan marks the revelation of the Quran to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), signaling a time for personal reflection, spiritual growth, and renewed faith for our cherished Muslim brothers and sisters.”

He emphasized the importance of contemplating our life’s purpose, showing kindness to those who require support, and uplifting our communities during this period.

The President highlighted Ramadan’s themes of discipline and gratitude, describing it as a “powerful catalyst for social change” through fasting, prayer, and charitable acts, which foster solidarity and a sense of community belonging.

Marcos encouraged unity in embracing humility and dedication to living according to faith-based values, suggesting this unity as a compass toward collective progress and hope.

Globally, Muslims observe Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, which involves fasting, prayer, reflection, and building community. Fasting is perceived as a worshipful act with deep spiritual meaning, reminding believers that God is the ultimate provider.
