Call for Unity: Filipino Muslims Encouraged to Pray for Lasting Peace

The Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) calls on Filipino Muslims to come together in prayer for the promotion of ‘just and lasting peace’ in the nation as the Holy Month of Ramadan commences. Presidential Peace Adviser Carlito Galvez Jr. emphasized that Ramadan symbolizes values such as compassion, solidarity, and the pursuit of peace, all of which are shared by Filipinos. He highlighted the importance of this sacred period for Muslims worldwide, emphasizing the need to deepen their spiritual connection with Allah and recommit to sacrifice, dedication, and harmony. As Muslims contemplate the teachings of Islam during Ramadan, Galvez appeals for collective prayers to be extended for enduring peace in the country. He also extended his wishes for health, happiness, and prosperity to the Muslim community during this significant month.
