BPI Restores Major Mobile App Services Following Downtime Issues

·

MANILA, Philippines – The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has confirmed on Saturday, March 1, the restoration of major features in its mobile app and online banking system after experiencing glitches that started on Friday, February 28.

“We have successfully restored select critical functionalities within the BPI mobile app and BPI online platform. Currently, our team is diligently working on reinstating complete service access at the earliest possible time. Ensuring seamless and reliable digital banking experience remains our highest priority,” BPI said in an official press statement issued just after noon on Saturday.

As of now, the bank has not identified specifically which services are still undergoing technical repairs and remain temporarily unavailable.

Several customers have voiced their dissatisfaction on social media, mentioning ongoing issues, particularly with online money transfers. Some have pointed out that attempted transactions from the previous day have yet to be completed or reflected on their accounts.

Digital banking disruptions commonly occur during peak periods such as payday, due to the substantial rise in customer transactions. Nonetheless, customers continue to press financial institutions like BPI for improvements in reliability and infrastructure stability, aiming for fewer inconveniences in the future.
