The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has announced that there are currently over 10,000 job vacancies available, primarily in the customer service and call center sectors. This surge in job opportunities was highlighted in a recent report released on Friday.
According to the data collected by the Bureau of Local Employment (BLE) from February 7 to 13, the highest number of vacancies are for customer service assistants and call center agents, with a total of 9,922 positions open. Specifically, there are 4,961 vacancies for each of these roles.
In addition to these, there are also significant openings for other roles. The BLE reported 3,492 vacancies for production machine operators and 2,707 openings for production workers, indicating a strong demand in the manufacturing sector as well.
Furthermore, there are 1,000 job vacancies available for domestic helpers, catering to the needs of households across the country.
The BLE gathers its data from the Public Employment Service Office Employment Information System, which provides a comprehensive overview of the job market. Another source of job market data is the government-operated job matching portal, PhilJobNet, which helps connect job seekers with employers.
